Driver Identification

Protect your fleet from unauthorized use and log every shift change. Accurately calculate working hours.

Make sure your corporate vehicles don’t get into the wrong hands. Provide each driver with a unique personal RFID card or iButton. The driver scans the RFID card before the vehicle ignition. Not scanning results in the engine blocking and alert triggering.

By enabling the extension, you will not only protect your fleet but will also know exactly how much time each driver spends on the road.

Consider using Driver Identification to:

  • Avoid unauthorized usage of vehicles
  • Always know who is behind the wheel
  • Register the total mileage travelled by each driver accurately to calculate the corresponding salary
  • Proof working hours to customers
  • Receive an alert if a driver is not identified when a vehicle starts a trip

To get started with the extension:

  1. Install a GPS tracking device into a vehicle. The GPS tracker should allow to block an engine in case of unauthorized use. For example, it can be Teltonika or Galileosky devices.
  2. Install a card reader and connect it to the GPS tracker, e.g. via the 1-Wire interface.
  3. Upload information on the ID cards to the tracker’s memory for unlocking the engine.
  4. Enable the engine blocking via the device’s output.
  5. Open the GPS tracker hardware settings and activate/set up an algorithm for remote engine blocking.
  6. Log in to your account and expand driver profiles to specify hardware keys (personal ID numbers) used for authorization.
  7. Create the “Identification via RFID/iButton” and “Driver Change” rules to receive alerts each time drivers change shifts.
  8. Generate the “Driver shift change” report to calculate working hours for each driver.
